Bob Dylan Studio A Revisited
CHALLENGE
Get old and new fans engaged with the latest Bob Dylan record release in a standout way. With all the music available in various channels these days, it’s hard to get noticed. With a timeline of a little less than two months, we needed to make a huge impact in promoting Bob Dylan’s next release.
IDEA
Let fans recreate the studio experience by getting hands on through mixing, listening or singing in the historical studio sessions that produced classics such as, Like a Rolling Stone.
To create a fully immersive virtual studio experience we integrated as much of the historical content Sony Legacy had available to provide contextual texture, painting a very detailed picture of those sessions through a combination of rich visuals, sound bytes and text.
Join the Jam Session
Become the studio mixer through the manipulation of the four individual stems (tracks) of the song, Like a Rolling Stone.
Join the Listening Session
Dive into the history by listening to outtake samples and read about the stories from each of the six sessions on the timeline between 1965 - 1966.
Join the SINGING Session
Sing along to Like a Rolling Stone and test your ability to match the pitch and tempo.

MY ROLE
After the overall concept and initial look and feel had been approved by Sony, I partnered with the team with responsibility of realizing it as a responsive website experience. From design all the way through launch, I managed the team and meet with the client regularly to present the progress. I directed and oversaw the visual design, XD, and copy team on a very aggressive timeline of about three weeks to finish the first phase of the site by the album release date.
I was hands on in designing the UI for the desktop Jam Session stems experience, selecting and editing audio cues and samples, and working closely with the dev team during build and QA to preserve the integrity of the design and provide creative solutions to user testing and technical issues.
